This tiger is part of a collection he is working on called "Endangered animals" which will depict many species of animals who are endanger of going extinct if we do nothing to stop it. It is a very powerful concept and an elegantly crafted piece. All of these works will be available for print and a percentage of sales will go to the WWF organization. The Kentucky Derby, held at the historic Churchill Downs, is the longest running sporting event in the United States, dating back to 1875. John has created these rich, colorfully rendered scenes for the race to highlight it's prestige and excitement. Printed on fine archival paper and hand numbered, only 100 of these prints will be made! It is a signature memento of the historic Run for the Roses at legendary Churchill Downs.

This is such a prestigious title to have and we are very proud of John and these wonderful works!
Check out this week's covers for both The New York Observer and The Weekly Standard by Jason Seiler
I'd like to take this time to point out the fact that Jason is a champion when it comes to quick turnarounds.
This week he was commissioned to do a five person illustration for the New York Observer. In addition to this project, he was also asked to do a fully rendered cover for the weekly standard as well as give three presentations at Vernon Hills High School. Talk about a full plate!
In order to meet the tight deadlines, Jason worked around the clock daily to please every need within the given timeframe. For the New York Observer cover, he focused mainly on the drawing part. Each political figure is rendered beautifully and full of personality, using a digital pencil. What a fantastic job this turned out to be!
As far as timing on the Weekly Standard Cover is concerned, he was given a call on Tuesday night and asked if he could paint a "quickie" cover, final due Thursday evening. He managed to bang both projects out, lightning fast, in record time - which is amazing because both came out spectacular! What's truly special about Jason's work is how much heart goes into each piece he creates and how each takes on a life of it's own. Way to go, Jason!

Here at Richard Solomon Artists Representative LLC, there's only one thing we love more than art and that is the artists who create it. One of the most amazing things about being an artist, in my opinion, is the ability to create a universal language to appeal to the masses. Art is a sensory experience; it allows you to think and feel.
So today we'd like to take a moment to admire one of the greats we have on our team - Thomas Ehretsmann
Thomas Ehretsmann was born in 1974 and grew up in Thann France. He completed his studies at The School of Decorative Arts in Strasbourg in 1998 and started his career as a comic book artist. In 2009, he studied with the great Norwegian painter Odd Nerdrum.
He has since went on to lead a successful career in illustration for almost two decades. Thomas' work has been featured in many notable magazines and publishings such as The New Yorker, Rolling Stone, Elle Magazine, and many European books and journals. His most prestigious award to date came in March 2011 when he won a gold medal at the Society of Illustrators for "Muder Inc."
Thomas' style has been rightfully compared to that of Edward Hopper and is best known for his Neo-Noir acrylic paintings, depicting "how today's world would look like in the roaring 20's. " - Curator Inspired
Recently, one of Thomas Ehretsmann's paintings has been selected for the prestigious BP Portrait Award 2016 exhibition, which will be held at the National Portrait Gallery in London from June 23rd to September 4, 2016. (See Below)
So what do you think of Thomas Ehretsmann? Write to us and let us know!
