Stimulate Your Senses

Oscar Ramos

"Touch comes before sight, before speech. It is the first language and the last, and it always tells the truth."

- Margaret Atwood

Jack Daly

"Observe, record, tabulate, communicate. Use your five senses. Learn to see, learn to hear, learn to feel, learn to smell, and know that by practice alone you can become expert."

- William Osler

Charles Chaisson

"I want people to see what's inside my head rather than just looking at me."

- FKA Twigs

Michal Dziekan

"I do believe that using fragrance is a plus. It's one of our senses and it's be a waste not to use our sense of smell. I also think smell is something that tells a lot about a person."

- Nacho Figueras

Mark Summers

"Taste is one of the five senses, and the man who tells us with priggish pride that he does not care what he eats is merely boasting of his sad deficiency: he might as well be proud of being deaf or blind, or, owing to a perpetual cold in the head, of being devoid of the sense of smell."

- E.F. Benson

David Johnson

"You always have to stimulate the senses."

- Henrik Fisker

Goni Montes

"All things are in a state of vibration. Vibrations from objects in our surroundings are constantly impinging upon us and carry to our senses a cognition of the external world. The vibrations in the ether act upon our eyes so that we see, and vibrations in the air transmit sounds to the ear."

- Max Heindel

Michal Lisowski

"When you start using senses you've neglected, your reward is to see the world with completely fresh eyes."

- Barbara Sher

Leonard Peng

"Every second of every day, our senses bring in way too much data than we can possibly process in our brains."

- Peter Diamandis

Tim Bower

"We tend to block off many of our senses when we're staring at a screen. Nature time can literally bring us to our senses."

- Ricahrd Louv

Rudy Gutierrez

"Nothing we use or hear or touch can be expressed in words that equal what is given by the senses."

- Hannah Arendt

Karla Ortiz

"If 'seeing is believing' what happened to taste, touch, sound and smell ? Did our creator really intend to favour sight over the other senses ? I don't believe so."

- ALex Morritt

Ricardo Martinez

"All credibility, all good conscience, all evidence of truth come only from the senses."

- Friedrich Nietzsche

Maria Corte Maidagan

"Sensual is everything that refers to the delight of the senses. And that's what artists do, is stimulate the senses in any possible way."

- Shakira

Niklas Asker

"The eye is the most refined of our senses, the one which communicates most directly with our mind, our consciousness."

- Robert Delaunay

James Bennett

"One more organ or one less in our body would give us a different intelligence. In fact, all the established laws as to why our body is a certain way would be different if our body were not that way."

- Montesquieu

Mark T Smith

"I believe in a long, prolonged, derangement of the senses in order to obtain the unknown."

- Jim Morrison

Guy Stauber

"All we have to believe is our senses: the tools we use to perceive the world, our sight, our touch, our memory. If they lie to us, then nothing can be trusted."

- Neil Gaiman

Kent Barton

"There is no reason to suppose that taste is in any way a lower sense than the other four; a fine palate is as much a gift as an eye that discerns beauty or an ear that appreciates and enjoys subtle harmonies of sound, and we are quite right to value the pleasures that all our senses give us and educate their perceptions."

- E.F. Benson

Chris Gall

"Of all the senses, sight must be the most delightful."

- Helen Keller

Dongyun Lee

"When something is new to us, we treat it as an experience. We feel that our senses are awake and clear. We are alive."

- Jasper Johns

John Mattos

"Once you appreciate one of your blessings, one of your senses, your sense of hearing, then you begin to respect the sense of seeing and touching and tasting, you learn to respect all the senses."

- Maya Angelou

Thomas Ehretsmann

"Before two human beings come in close physical contact, their auras have mingled; that is the reason why we 'feel the presence of another' at times before we become aware of him by means of our ordinary senses."

- Max Heindel

CF Payne

"You think about some of the most memorable meals you've ever had; the food will be good but it will often be about locating a mental memory and taste is inexorably linked to all the other senses and memory, so ultimately it is all about taste."

- Heston Blumenthal

Paul Cox

"Beauty must appeal to the senses, must provide us with immediate enjoyment, must impress us or insinuate itself into us without any effort on our part."

The Art of Building

Mark Elliott

"True leaders don't invest in buildings. Jesus never built a building. They invest in people. Why? Because success without a successor is failure. So your legacy should not be in buildings, programs, or projects; your legacy must be in people."

- Myles Munroe

Jack Daly

"The ultimate goal of the architect...is to create a paradise. Every house, every product of architecture... should be a fruit of our endeavour to build an earthly paradise for people."

- Alvar Alato

Eric Drooker

"It is not the beauty of a building you should look at; its the construction of the foundation that will stand the test of time."

- David Allan Coe

Tim Bower

"The toughest thing about the power of trust is that it's very difficult to build and very easy to destroy. The essence of trust building is to emphasize the similarities between you and the customer."

- Thomas J. Watson

Leonard Peng

"Building sustainable cities - and a sustainable future - will need open dialogue among all branches of national, regional and local government."

- Ban Ki-Moon

Ricardo Martinez

"Whatever good things we build end up building us."

- Jim Rohn

Dongyun Lee

"Changes in the traditional way of building are only permitted if they are an improvement. Otherwise stay with what is traditional, for truth, even if it be hundreds of years old has a stronger inner bond with us than the lie that walks by our side."

- Adool Loos

Niklas Asker

"Building a solid foundation in the early years of a child's life will not only help him or her reach their reach their full potential but will also result in better societies as a whole."

- Novak Djokovic

Gregory Manchess

"Peace is a daily, a weekly, a monthly process, gradually changing opinions, slowly eroding old barriers, quietly building new structures."

- John F. Kennedy

Oscar Ramos

"Of course I believe imaginative architecture can make a difference to people's lives, but I wish it was possible to divert some of the effort we put into ambitious museums and galleries into the basic architectural building blocks of society."

- Zaha Hadid

Maria Corte Maidagan

"If opportunity doesn't knock, build a door."

- Milton Berle

Chris Gall

"You can design and create, and build the most wonderful place in the world. But it takes people to make the dream a reality."

- Walt Disney

Kent Barton

"Every day is a new opportunity. You can build on yesterday's success or put its failures behind and start over again. That's the way life is..."

- Bob Feller

Michal Dziekan

"Surround yourself with smart, dedicated people - to build something isn't a one-man show. It's more important to have smart people who really believe in what you're doing than really experienced people who may not share your dream."

- Niklas Zennstrom

Rudy Gutierrez

"Whenever we witness art in a building, we are aware of an energy contained by it."

- Arthur Erickson

David Johnson

"There is one timeless way of building. It is a thousand years old, and the same today as it has ever been. The great traditional buildings of the past, the villages and tents and temples in which man feels at home, have always been made by people who were very close to the center of this way."

- Christopher Alexander

Douglas Smith

"You can't build any kind of organization if you're not going to surround yourself with people who have experience and skill base beyond your own."

- Howard Schultz

Borja Bonaque

"The scientist and engineers who are building the future need the poets to make sense of it."

- Jason Silva

James Bennett

"What I learned from architectural drafting is that everything has to have a plan to work. You just can't wing it. I can't get all the materials I need for a house and just start building. Whether it's a career, family, life - you have to plan it out."

- Ice Cube

Patrick Arrasmith

"Architecture and building is about how you get around the obstacles that are presented to you. That sometimes determines how successful you'll be: How good are you at going around obstacles?"

- Jeremy Renner

John Mattos

"Building art is a synthesis of life in materialised form. We should try to bring in under the same hat not a splintered way of thinking, but all in harmony together."
