Visit with Paul Cox!

While there, she had the chance to drop in to Paul Cox's studio for tea, cake, and lovely conversation with Paul and his wife, Julia. Paul has been a professional illustrator for over 20 years and had plenty of wisdom to share with May in a discussion stemming from the beginning of his career and the transformation of the field to inspiration, influence, and finding one's stylistic voice. Bullies, Tyrants, and Intimidators

Jon Foster

Fighting means you could lose. Bullying means you can't. A bully wants to beat somebody; he doesn't want to fight somebody."

-Andrew Vachss

Kent Barton

"If you have to lie, cheat, steal, obstruct and bully to get your point across, it must not be a point capable of surviving its own merits."

-Steven Weber

Orlando Arocena
"Bullying builds character like nuclear waste creates superheroes. It's a rare occurence and often does much more damage than endowment."

-Zack W. Van

Mark Summers

"Simlpe peck-order bullying is only the beginning of the kind of hierarchical behavior that can lead to racism, sexism, ethnocentrism, classism, and all the other 'isms' that cause so much suffering in the world."

-Octavia E. Butler

Mark T Smith

"All empires, by definition, are bumbling, shambolic, bullying, bureaucratic affairs, as certain of the rightness of their cause in infancy as they are corrupted by power in their dotage."

- Felix Dennis

Paul Cox

"Often I think bullying - especially in it's adult, verbal forms - is the sort of thing you don't realize till the end of the day, and it's a horrible feeling to realize something wasn't just a bland statement, but was actually cruel. But then we're all capable of things that are breathtakingly cruel."

- Liane Moriarty

Dongyun Lee

"But, actually, it is only Americans who say that our freedoms and prosperity are the reason foreigners hate us. If you ask the foreigners, they make it clear that it's America's bullying foreign policy they detest."

- Harry Browne

Patrick Arrasmith

"When you have police officers who abuse citizens, you erode public confidence in law enforcement. That makes the job of good police officers unsafe."

-Mary Frances Berry

Rudy Gutierrez

"...Fine-tuning adult bullying is different. When a bully is an adult, it's a whole different set of colors. "

-Martin Kove

Gary Kelley

"The Soviet Union was, at its slender best of times, a tyranny, and during the long reign of Joseph Stalin a mechanism for killing people distinguished from the "Hitlerzeit" only by motive."

-Edward Pearce

Michal Dziekan

"Those in powerless positions aren't about to complain about bullying bosses, abusive supervisors or corrupt coworkers. There is no safe way to do so and no process that promises redress."

-Margaret Heffernan

Ricardo Martinez

"It doesn't matter if the cat is black or white, as long as it catches mice."

-Den Xiaoping

James Bennett

"A lot of people are afraid to tell the truth, to say no. That's where toughness comes into play. Toughness is not being a bully. It's having a backbone."

-Robert Kiyosaki

Jason Seiler

"He kills our people, arrests people who are against his administration. He produces drugs. It's a national industry. He kidnaps other people from South Korea, or other democratic countries. He is doing all sorts of bad things, like the devil. Do not trust him, never, ever."

- Kim Duk Hong, North Korean Defector

Bill Sanderson

"It is beyond dispute that Saddam Hussein is a menace."

-Brent Scowcroft

Oscar Ramos

"I realize that bullying never has to do with you. It's the bully who's insecure."

-Share Mitchell

CF Payne

" This man thinks that you can't criticise your government. This man thinks that if you sing and dance in an inappropriate way you get two years in prison!"

- Pussy Riot - Vladimir Putin Message

Niklas Asker

"Terrorism is psychological warfare. Terrorists try to manipulate us and change our behavior by creating fear, uncertainty, and division in society."

- Patrick J. Kennedy

Eric Drooker

"The psychology of brutality was worse than the beatings."

-John Blair

Thomas Ehretsmann

"Life is a fight, but not everyone's a fighter. Otherwise, bullies would be an endangered species."

-Andrew Vachss
