Dongyun Lee - Rising Tide, Deloitte University Press

Matt Lennert, CD over at Deloitte University Press, wasn't joking when he warned us that this would be a complicated cover but Dongyun Lee was more than up for the task and the result is one of our favorite illustrations of his so far. Keep 'em coming!

David Johnson - Robert Frost, Harvard Magazine

Recently published, the January/February issue of Harvard Magazine features an in-depth article on Robert Frost's character. David Johnson was a good choice for the accompanying illustrations.

Other than the Time cover, Jason Seiler has another cover on magazine stands now. Granted, this one is only in Texas but its still very epic indeed!

Mark Summers - Steve Stevens, Money Talks on CNBC

CNBC is coming out with a new reality show about the fast paced lifestyle of Steve Stevens, the man behind VIP sports. We didn't quite know what the show was about when Mark Summers was asked to replicate his portrait in the style of a dollar bill but now thats its out, we can happily share it with you.

Rudy Gutierrez - Kanye West for Entertainment Weekly

Along with Edward Kinsella's David Bowie portrait is Rudy Gutierrez's Kanye West in Entertainment Weekly's Top 10 of 2013 issue... another poetic rendition.

Jason Seiler - Nelson Mandela

Phew! Its been a crazy week for Jason Seiler since the release of his Time Magazine's person of the year cover. He's been getting an overwhelming amount of interviews and media coverage requests from all over.

While he soaks in the much deserved praise, we wanted to share another portrait he painted at the request of Der Spiegel (Germany's equivalent to Time) of Nelson Mandela. Although it was ultimately never printed on the cover, we thought it came out as quite a beautiful tribute to an iconic hero.

Welcoming Sam Spratt

I am very happy to say that as of last week, the incredibly talented Sam Spratt has joined the RSAR family. We were incredibly impressed with his work and after a inviting him to the office for a chat, we collectively decided we would be a good fit. We are looking forward to watching our collaboration grow and prosper in the new year!

Take a look at more his work here

Sam graduated from the Savannah College of Art and Design in 2010 with a BFA in illustration. He immediately began work as Gawker Media's first staffed illustrator where, over the course of 9 months, he created hundreds of on-demand illustrations and editorial packages, bringing a little bit of art to tech-journalism. Since then, celebrities and corporations worldwide now come to Sam for their creative needs. His work and clients range from magazine covers for Game Informer, editorial illustrations for MSNBC, promotional and advertising imagery for the Angry Birds franchise, FX Network, National Geographic Channel, Cinemax, and Tomb Raider, conceptual art for the game industry, merchandise for Warner Bros., cover art and branding for the music industry with labels and artists like EMI and Miike Snow, Album covers for Janelle Monáe, movie posters for Sundance winning Best Documentaries, as well as personally commissioned artwork and covers for Actor/Rapper, Donald Glover (Childish Gambino), private portraiture for Fortune 500 CEOs, medical illustrations for The American Association of Cancer Research, illustrations for some of the world's most renowned photographers--including a 55 foot long painting on a tour bus, with book covers, websites, logos, and everything in between. His work has caught the attention of the public but also critics and mainstream publications with interviews in outlets such as PBS, ImagineFX, Print Magazine, Complex, NME, Pitchfork, Maxim, The Daily Dot, and MTV. His technique is built off of classical oil-painting training and translated to the fast-paced digital world.

Edward Kinsella III - David Bowie for Entertainment Weekly

It's about that time of year again when magazines begin publishing their "Best of..." issues. Edward Kinsella illustrated David Bowie for Entertainment Weekly's article about the top 10 singles of 2013. Ah, a portrait just as poetic as the man himself.

Jason Seiler Paints Time's Man of the Year

Time Magazine just announced it's Man of the Year to be Pope Francis and commissioned Jason Seiler to paint him for the cover. He also did a portrait of Edward Snowden who was the runner up. I can't think of a better holiday gift for an illustrator than to see his work so prominently displayed. Congrats Jason!

Mark Summers Collaborates with The Drawing Dreams Foundation

Drawing Dreams Foundation is a three-year old Berkeley, California-based nonprofit organization that donates art supplies to hospitalized children through children's hospitals' Artist-in-Residence and Child Life programs. Last year, Jason Seiler donated a painting of his friend Cory Chisel (who in turn sang at their event).

This year, Mark Summers has graciously donated his portrait of Bob Dylan to be auctioned off for charity. Help make a difference in the lives of these children and make a bid!
