Chase Stone - The Origin of Brackets

With the NCAA tournaments nearing an end, we thought we would share this illustration Chase Stone did as a comical pseudo-explanation for the mysterious origin of brackets. Originally for the Wall Street Journal, the editors chose not to use this illustration in favor of a photograph of what is believed to be the first ever bracket.
